Triathletes get ready to tackle Lough Neagh
Triathletes from near and far will descend upon Ballyronan to take part in a race which has become legendary in triathlon circles.
With the race entry selling out, the popularity of triathlon continues to grow.

Hide AdThe event, sponsored by Acti-Snack and organised by Hi Elbow Triathlon Club, Cookstown District Council and Traad and Ballyronan Ballinderry Development Association, will be over the sprint distance of a 750m swim, a 20km cycle and a 5Km run.
A shorter Super Sprint race, aimed at those new to triathlon, is also being promoted, starting at 12.20pm.
A new addition for the triathlon is a children’s event at 10.30am, designed for young people aged 4–15 years old.
Local triathlon clubs North West TC and 24/7 from Letterkenny will have competitors in the Lough Neagh Triathlon sponsored in Acti-Snack including Donna Philson and Kevin Lafferty from Derry, and Letterkenny’s Kirsty McIlwaine.

Hide AdThe entry list also welcomes international entrants from England, Germany, Poland and Mexico.
For the first time the run course will take in the Ballyronan “Woodland Trail” before covering an ‘out and back’ course along the Ballynagarve Road. Delays will be expected in Ballyronan and on the course between midday and 2pm.
