Hide AdThe overall performance was more like the United of last season as they passed the ball well, created a host of chances and scored lots of goals.
Kevin Roddy also finally made his debut for Limavady and he will be pleased with his contribution.
Niall Cooke grabbed a brace, strike partner Conleth McCaughan also found the target and Damian McNulty also scored before half-time. Peter Spratt added the fifth in the second half.
United could have taken the lead in just the third minute but Cooke's header was off target from Declan McKeever's pinpoint cross.

Only a minute later the Roesiders took the lead. Paul Owens delivered a perfect cross with Cooke on hand to flick his header into the net.
In the 30th minute McKeever, who was a constant threat bursting forward, again delivered a wonderful cross but Cooke just failed to connect at the back post.
Seven minutes later the Rathmore men did extend their lead further. Lee Patrick's pile driver was well blocked by Gavin Mark. McCaughan's follow-up was deflected wide and from Francis McKenna's resultant corner McNulty powered home a header.

The second started as the first had ended with united on the attack. McCaughgan held the ball up well for Cooke, but the striker's shot was off the mark.
In the 54th minute the home side went further ahead. Substitute Michael Walsh's cross was powerfully headed home by Peter Spratt.
Shortly after Walsh was almost on the score-sheet himself but he fired wide after Owens had played him through.

United should have been further ahead with fifteen minutes remaining. McCaughan burst through but his shot shook the crossbar, Patrick picked up the loose ball and rolled it into the path of Owens who struck the outside of the post.
In the 80th minute Owens had another chance after good word by Walsh and Cooke but once again his shot was off target.
Just before the final whistle Owens saw a shot well saved and Walsh's follow-up was well blocked.
