Narrow loss for Cambridge House in Medallion final
The final of the competition, which was played in perfect conditions in front of a large crowd at Rainey Endowed School, saw Foyle & Londonderry College edge out the Galgorm Road boys by 16 points to 12 in a thrilling game.
Foyle held the upper hand in the first half leading 10-0 at half time.

Early pressure by Cambridge House in the second half resulted in a Kane McIlroy try.
At 10-5 Foyle again stretched their lead to eight points through a Coyle penalty.
Back came Cambridge House again, through, as strong running by their forwards resulted in a try under the posts which was converted by McCandless to leave the scoreline tight at 13-12.

Hide AdAnother period of pressure by Foyle led to a penalty converted by Coyle again to leave the scoreline at 16-12 going into the final 10 minutes.
Cambridge House piled the pressure on in the final minutes of the game and a try saving tackle by Ben Galbraith when a try looked inevitable saved the day.
Cambridge House were penalised at the resulting scrum and it was left to Keelin Coyle to put the ball into touch and the game was over with Foyle running out narrow winners by 16-12.
