Narrow defeat for Firsts in opener
There were high hopes for the match after Coleraine defeated Carrickfergus in the season opening competition at Randalstown last month, but with both sides fielding considerably different teams for the league game, the home side did not make the most of their chances and lost out narrowly, 6-9.
Players and management were disappointed with the result but acknowledged that Carrick had made more of their opportunities on the day.

Attention now turns to training and ironing out some issues ahead of the Junior Cup game against Ballymena 2s this week.
In the end the score remained Coleraine 6 – 9 Carrickfergus and the home side had to settle for a losing bonus point.
This weekend Coleraine entertain Ballymena Seconds in the first round of this season’s Junior Cup, kick-off 2.30pm.
