The two Glenns win to make Walsh’s a double
Just recently he won the Cooper Rosebowl mixed foursomes event with Julie Robinson.
There was some great golf in the fourball final against Robert Campbell and Colin Hill.

Hide AdGlenn Walsh birdied the short fourth to put his side one ahead. The two Glenns lost the fifth where Colin Hill had a birdie three but went ahead again at the seventh which they won with a par four.
Further wins at 11 and 12 put them three up. They lost the 15th and watched Colin Hill hole from 12 feet at 16 for a par. Glenn Waring though holed from ten feet for a half and then reached the 17th green in two to seal the match.
Winter League
The second round of Winter League matches was completed on the back nine in the sunshine last Saturday. It is surprising how few pairings are undefeated after only two matches.
David Megrath (19) had the best individal score with 23 points. Graeme Kerr (15) finished one point behind with Philip Sanaghan (12) third on 21.

Hide AdPhilip and Roy Welsh were the only two players to register birdie twos at 13. There were no twos at 18.
Three players finished with 22 points in the Sunday Winter League.

Charity
In June, Lisburn Captain Mr Peter Cairns and Lady Captain Mrs Gil Colvin presented Colleen Shaw from Friends of the Cancer Centre with a cheque for £5,510 raised at a Golf Day

Hide AdIn August, at Andrew Crawford’s President’s day, £1055 was raised for the Macmillan Cancer Support fund.
David Bolas completed the ‘Lap The Lough’ cycle challenge recently and raised £1,400 for ‘Friends of the Cancer Centre.’
David who is a keen hockey player only took up cycling in May and started with trips of 40km. By the end of June he had stretched his limit to 100km and decided to accept the challenge of completing a lap of Lough Neagh at the end of August.
He got great support from his friends and was delighted to present Claire Hogarth with the cheque at Lisburn Golf Club last week.
