Rory and Megan Made it two in a row as they are number Whan
That’s because the holders of the title, Rory Madeley and Megan Whan, retained their crown, this time up against Cecil Wilson and Karen Heslip.
Rory is one of the most talented low handicappers in the club and you could say the same about young Megan in the ladies section. Together they form a formidable partnership and it was always going to take an exceptional pairing to beat them.

Hide AdCecil and Karen were delighted to reach the final but they had to admit that Rory and Megan were too strong.
I saw the final hole of the match. Rory hit a brilliant iron shot into the par three, ten feet from the hole. Karen chipped up stone dead and the putt was conceded. Then, as cool as you like, Megan stroked in her putt for a winning birdie.
“That’s the way they played throughout the whole match,” said Cecil. “We just had no answer.”
So it’s congratulations to Rory and Megan and commiserations to Cecil and Karen.
