Town defender to call time on career
The defender was a ‘colossus’ in Saturday’s all-important victory according to his boss.
But now the manager will have to do without one of his key men going forward.

Hide Ad“For me, Glen was man of the match on Saturday,” said Ryan Watson.
“In those sort of games, you need big players who will stand up and lead by example. Glen did that for us on Saturday. He was a colossus.
“It was a very fitting way for him to finish off his career. He played a huge part in keeping the club in the league on what was a massive day for everyone connected with Banbridge Town.
“I know it wasn’t a trophy and we didn’t win anything, but it was a great day for Glen to go out on. He was absolutely fantastic.”

Hide AdWaddell enjoyed a long Irish League career, playing in two stints at Town which sandwiched spells at Loughgall in the Premiership and also Rathfriland Rangers.
Meanwhile, boss Watson was quick to praise the club’s supporters for the key role they played in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Sport and Leisure Swifts.
“I have the thank the supporters who went up there on Saturday,” he said.
“They gave us a huge boost, seeing the numbers that had travelled.
“It was so great to see and we really have to thank them for that.”
