Skipper McLaughlin rolls back the years
Since the Drumahoe club have deployed a three man defence this season his captain has played at the right hand side of the three and at times on Saturday against Linfield, McLaughlin was bursting forward.
A few times the 34-year-old was sprinting into the Blues half and telling wing-back Stephen Curry to get out of his way.

“I was really pleased for him, because his performance was much better than the Cliftonville game. He was a little disappointed after that game and he took it on the chin when we did the analysis.
“He has come out and had a really good front foot performance, he defended well, headed the ball well, got the ball on the ground and brought it out from the back and has come up with a good goal.”
The ex-Derry City defender also joked that at times his fellow defender Mark Scoltock was looking to keep him on a tight leash.
“I got a wee bit carried away a couple of times, I think Scolty was looking to tie a rope around me to pull me back into line,” joked the former Coleraine man.
