INSTITUTE: Doherty is City's spot-kick hero
Goalkeeper Gerard Doherty was City’s hero in the penalty shoot-out, saving Aidan McCauley and Alex Pomeroy’s spot-kicks.
The visitors took the lead on 27 minutes thanks to Niclas Vemmelund’s stinging left footed strike from 20 yards.

Hide AdStute levelled things a minute later from the penalty spot, after Shane McGinty was brought down inside the box by Patrick McClean, midfielder Ciaron Harkin made no mistake from 12 yards firing high into the net.
Right on the stroke of half-time a teasing through ball by Rory Holden found Dean Brown but his close range effort was kept out by Stute keeper Gareth Muldoon.
Institute deservedly took the lead on 58 minutes when Niall Grace’s super pass, which caught out McClean, found right-winger Shane Brennan and his cross was turned home by Jamie Dunne.
With two minutes remaining Vemmelund netted his second on the night to take the game straight to penalties.
After the shoot-out former Institute boss Paul Kee, his mother Rea and sister Julia presented City skipper Ryan McBride with the Memorial Cup.
