Drifters land Champion of Champions title once again
The Ballymena, Harryville and District Darts League had a free week to facilitate a Charity night in the Coach Bar featuring Andy “The Viking” Fordham and Andy Goram.
There was one match played, the postponed fixture between Village Inn and Bowling Club.

Hide AdVillage Inn 8, Bowling Club 0: Village Inn claimed a strong victory to push themselves up to third in the table.
Their winners this week were Lee Givens (2-1), Alvin Wilkinson (2-0), James McKeown (2-1), Darryl Reid (2-1), Trevor McFall (2-0), Neil Marshall (2-0), Joe Wallace (2-1) and David McFall (2-1). Star player - Trevor McFall.
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
On Saturday, Area 2 darts held their annual Champion of Champions competition. League winners and runners-up earn the right to participate, Ballymenas’ representatives where therefore Drifters and The Coach (formerly The Diamond).
However, due to a late withdrawal from Larne, Ballymena were awarded an extra place with Greenhills taking this chance.

Hide AdAll 3 Ballymena sides made light work of the quarter finals, Drifters beating Ballyearl 6-3, Greenhills overcoming Thatch 6-3 and The Coach defeating 5 Corners 8-1. This resulted in Drifters facing Blues Club in the semi finals were they came out with a 5-1. The second semi-final saw an all Ballymena game with Greenhills defeated by The Coach 5-2.
As a result of these games, for the second time in 3 years, Drifters would battle with The Coach for the Champion of Champions crown.
However, unlike the last time they met in this competition, Drifters dug deep and regained the trophy they won last season with a resounding 5-1 win.

League action resumes this Friday night, November 6, with the following games in Division Two: Wanderers v Patton’s; Bowling Club v Buffs; Ballee I v Cosy Corner; Michelin v Ballee II; Fountain Bar v Village Inn.
