Hide AdThe moon crossing in front of the sun for the first time in 16 years proved an unforgettable experience for those fortunate enough to have clear skies around 9.30am.
Dozens of people in Cookstown went out on to the streets and were rewarded with a 15-minute break in the clouds.
As the eclipse developed, the moon gradually took a larger and larger “bite” out of the sun, covering up to 97% of its face at the height of the eclipse.
