An officer explained they had not searched the address earlier in the day due to the presence of young children in the home.
As the search operation was wound up and officers returned to the station they spotted the man in question and he was arrested,
Local police commandeer Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: “While there has been a welcome reduction in the number of burglaries across the District this financial year to date, we continue to see properties being entered with too many accessed through unlocked doors and windows.

Chief Inspector Beck continued: “Burglary remains a priority for my officers. Officers from Local Policing Teams, the District Support Team and CID are working together to bring suspects before the courts.
“Only this morning these officers conducted a search of a property in the Lurgan area as part of such an investigation. I cannot stress enough how important local information is so I am asking our communities to contact us with any information they may have about this type of crime so we can continue to work together to Keep People Safe.”
