UUP exercised by ‘runway racers’ and ‘dereliction’
He said: “There are major concerns about the noise factor coming from cars being raced on old runways off Lower Station Road. I will be contacting the Council to have them investigate this enterprise as the noise currently exceeds that experienced with airplanes taking off and landing.
“The residents in the immediate area are suffering from this interference.”

Meanwhile, party colleague and candidate in the Waterside DEA, Julia Kee, has raised the issue of dereliction in the area.
She said: “We have key areas and sites like Ebrington Primary School and Lisnagelvin Leisure Centre soon to be freed up but no concrete plans on their use.
“My Party will be looking for the establishment of a Waterside Health Hub at Lisnagelvin to address many of the underlying community health issues that are so impacting on the residents of the Waterside.

The UUP says it is mindful that the Waterside is lagging behind the rest of the city in terms of infrastructure and has vowed to work to address these matters.
