Tribute honours UDR service in Larne area
The Larne branch of the Regimental Association of the UDR presented a book of remembrance and a desktop lectern for dedication in the Old Presbyterian Church of Larne and Kilwaughter.
The service was well attended, with Her Majesty's Lieutenant for Co Antri, Mrs Joan Christie OBE the chief guest.

Hide AdShe complimented the Larne Branch of the UDR Regimental Association on their thoughtfulness in setting up the book of remembrance.
"It was fitting that those who sacrificed so much and were prepared to go the extra mile should be remembered in this fashion," she said.
Mrs Christie described reading the book as a sobering experience .
The Mayor, Councillor Bobby McKee paid tribute to those who served in the regiment protecting the community at no little cost to themselves.

Hide AdBranch president Austin Heatley said the day was about a time of reflection and remembering those with whom they had served.
"The event was dignified by the presence of so many, especially the civic leadership, and families can be assured that their relatives are not forgotten," he added.
