‘Tree of Hope’ cheques presented to charities
Sam Crowe, club president, was joined by William Cross, Rotary assistant governor and a member of the Larne club, for the distribution of the money from the ‘Tree of Hope’ fundraiser in the run up to Christmas.
Cheques were presented to Diane Strain, chairman of the Carrickfergus branch of Action Cancer and Karen Humphries, representing Carrickfergus Children’s Hospice Support Group. Mr Cross accepted the cheque for the Cancer Fund for Children’s Daisy Lodge project, which is one of Rotary District 1160’s nominated charities for this year. A further cheque is to be presented to Diabetes UK.

Hide AdEach of the recipients thanked the club for its generous support and spoke about how the money would be used to further the work of each organisation either through advancing research or improving care facilities.
Mr Crowe thanked all those involved in the organisation of the Tree of Hope, the store’s management for facilitating the project and shoppers for the generosity of their giving.
