Appeal for extra vigilance
Mr Simpson said, “Sadly preventable accidents happen on our roads; to date in 2012 there has been 36 road deaths in Northern Ireland.
“This is the time of year when we are all rushing around in preparation for Christmas but I am appealing to all drivers to be extra vigilant as we come into the festive season.”

I hope that everyone will make a commitment this winter to follow basic road safety rules by; not speeding, not drinking and driving and wearing their seat belts at all times.”
