Police officers praised by McCrea for speedy response
Mr McCrea said he wanted to congratulate the Cookstown based officers who received the prestigious accolade of a Chief Constable’s Commendation following their prompt and professional response to a fire that broke out in a Cookstown nightclub.
“The officers safely moved 500 people from the burning premises in October of 2010 and I have no doubt their actions saved lives. Four other officers received similar commendations for saving the life of a distressed young woman who was choking to death and I again convey my congratulations,” he said.
And he added: “These commendations highlight the diverse set of situations our officers can face and the broad skill set they require to fulfil their jobs.”
