Council issues advice due to 'demand on parking facilities' at Newtownabbey beauty spot
Commenting on social media this afternoon (Thursday), a spokesperson for the local authority said: "An increase in visitors to Hazelbank Park has put a demand on our car parking facilities. We have increased signage on your journey to the car park and request that, if the car park is full, you do not queue and instead seek alternative parking in Whiteabbey Village or Jordanstown Loughshore Park.
"Whilst visiting the park, please remember to stay in your household bubble, keep your distance from other walkers and runners, wash or sanitise hands before and after using equipment, dispose of all litter, gloves and wipes responsibly at home or in a bin, lift dog waste and place in the bin, avoid the area if it is busy and do not gather in groups - this includes no group exercising."
