Paula is crowned at championship event
Paula competes for Cullybackey, and her appearance in the Champion of Champions event is just the latest in a long list of world and regional title wins in the art of drum majoring.
The Chieftan of the Gathering at Portrush was the Mayor of Coleraine, Councillor George Duddy, who praised the efforts of all concerned in what was one of the highlights of the holiday season.

Results for the Champion of Champions, Pipe Bands class, which are calculated on the best five results out of the local competitions, excluding the All-Ireland: Grade 1, Cullybackey; Grade 2, Bleary & District; Grade 3a, Ballybriest; Grade 3b, Thiepval Memorial; Grade 4a, Closkelt and Grade 4b, Whitewater.
Champion of Champions and winners, Drum Majors class: Adult Grade, Paula Braiden (Cullybackey); Juvenile Grade, Lauren Abraham (Raffrey); Junior Grade, Zoe McDowell (Aughintober), and Novice Grade, Jamie Cupples (Killeen).
Pipe Band winners: Grade 1, Cullybackey; Grade 2, Bleary & District; Grade 3a, Ballybriest; Grade 3b, Thiepval Memorial; Grade 4a, Closkelt and Grade 4b, Portavogie.
Commemorative plaques were presented to Lauren Abraham (Raffrey), Zoe McDowell (Aughintober), and Samantha Gordon who received one on behalf of Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band.
