Organ Scholars stage recital
The duo performed to a large crowd at the lunchtime recital, with a programme that included the Canon in D by Pachelbel, two English Voluntaraies by Heron and Wesley, the Andante con moto (Sonata no 5 in D) by Mendelssohn, Marche Militaire by Schubert, Toccata by Dubois and Tuba Tune by C S Lang.
Both scholars won places to train with St Columb’s Cathedral organist Ian Mills, under the Mehaffey Scholarship.

Hide AdNicky Morton, aged 18, who is the son of Dean of Derry Very Rev Dr William Morton, is a former pupil of Foyle College and has secured a three-year place at Magee University to study a Bachelors Degree in Music, while Louis Fields, who is 19, is leaving the city to attend Glasgow University where he is to read geography. Louis is also a past pupil of Foyle College.
