I don’t believe the letter from UUP
I was reminded of two British Comedy icons - Basil Fawlty and Victor Meldrew a- nd the often chaotic ramblings and rants they referred too in life.
Mr McNickle referred to the style of politics here being ‘Punch and Judy’, the pitfalls awaiting the UUP in closer unity with the DUP and how he espoused he was a proud UUP member.

Hide AdMr McNickle would be well advised to take up the mantle and ‘Battle Cry’ of Unionist Unity and no better place to begin than promoting it in is own party and, using his own description of ‘Punch and Judy Politics’, use the authority of the Puppet Constable to prevent the party becoming a laughing stock on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
On reflection, Mr McNickle’s Lagan Valley Ulster Unionist Association may have accepted the inevitable outcome, when they vacated their offices, which is now a Funeral Undertakers. Alas maybe One Foot in the Grave of Politics will soon be Two.
