Hide AdThe Highway to Health programme operates across Northern Ireland with easily recognised route markers to encourage walking to people of all ages in order to promote mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Walking is an easy but effective way to be physically active.
The marked route allows people who are living or visiting Old Warren to take notice of the distance they are walking, to walk on a safe, pre-planned route but also to provide options for increasing the distance or speed of walking when safe to do so.
The Old Warren Highway to Health route is marked on a map at the front of the Laganview Enterprise Centre.

Lead walks are also available and anyone interested in these walks should contact Gillian Lewis, Healthy Living Manager.
Launching the route, The Resurgam Trust Director Adrian Bird said: “Having the Highways to Health Route in Old Warren demonstrates The Resurgam Trust support for promoting health and wellbeing within our communities. This walk should encourage members of the community to be physically active and to take note of the distances that they do walk as part of their daily lives.
“The Highway to Health walk forms part of the route for the annual Resurgam Fun Run so we see this as another opportunity to promote health and wellbeing through being physically active.”
