New Minister Watson takes over vacant Dunfanaghy position
He is the Rev Andrew Watson and succeeds the Rev Jim Lamont who retired in 2009.
Mr Watson grew up within Agnes Street Congregation in Belfast and Carnmoney in Newtownabbey. He attended Ballyclare High School and went on to study English at Queen’s University. Mr Watson and his wife have two sons and two daughters, Michael, Josh, Sarah and Emily, some at University and School.

Hide AdAmong his interests are playing the guitar, archery and riding his motorcycle, which he uses on occasion to visit the congregation members. He is also a regular contributor to the Peoples friend magazine and local papers and has a website, wordsurfers.com for devotional material.
After serving as Assistant Minister in West Kirk, Belfast he was Minister of Donegal and Ballyshannon for ten years and then of Scarva Street, Banbridge. Recently he has been acting as Assistant Minister in Castleblaney/Frankford and Corvalley in Co. Monaghan and Ervey in Co. Meath.
Mr Watson’s main concern is with preaching and pastoring the Church, getting got know the members and encouraging participation in the community. His installation is being held in Dunfanaghy on Friday, 9th January at 7pm.
