New drama to film scenes at Gobbins
The Belfast actor is part of a large local cast who will be appearing in pilot six-part drama, The Haven.
He will be joined by Maggie Cronin, star of Academy Award-winning short The Shore.

Hide AdThe film is set in Northern Ireland in 2020 following the election of its first female First
Minister, who is quickly plunged into a new battle against the growing threat of ISIS.
The series is being developed by Northern Ireland-based Lisdarragh Mill Productions, with a number of scenes to be filmed at Garron Tower, Garron Point, Glenariff, and the Antrim Coast Road.
The production was raised at last week’s meeting of Mid and East Antrim Council’s Economic Growth and Development Committee, during which members agreed to a request for partnership support.

Hide AdA members’ report stated: “Council have sought and been given a commitment that the Gobbins facility will be explored for a number of scenes.
“Council have [also] sought and been given photographic rights of the making of the production so that we can promote the area as a film location.”
A recommendation to contribute £3,750 towards the production was approved by the council.
“Newry Mourne and Down Council have already committed the same amount of money as Strangford lough is featured,” the report added.

Hide Ad“Given that the Mid and East Antrim landscape features significantly in the film there are opportunities for significant national and international audience exposure.”
Filming is expected to begin in February 2016 with a premier later in the year.
