MLA calls for committee enquiry into river pollution
Mrs Cameron raised the subject last week in response to a series of fish kills on the Ballymartin Water and Sixmilewater rivers.
“I’ve suggested the enquiry could look at how the department manages these incidents and how it communicates with the public/river users,” the DUP politician explained.

Hide AdWhile there was no objection to Mrs Cameron’s suggestion, it’s unlikely an enquiry will take place before next year’s Assembly election.
“This is a matter of high priority for the Environment Committee, of which I am the deputy chair. We as a committee will be taking oral evidence on this subject in the near future, possibly October,” Mrs Cameron added.
