Man who ran from police is fined
Denis Doyle from Newry Road, Hilltown appeared before Banbridge Magistrates Court last Thursday.
He was charged with disorderly behaviour, obstructing police and obstructing traffic.

Hide AdThe court heard how police were called to Ashleigh Grove on 8th May after reports of a domestic incident.
Immediately Doyle became abusive shouting, “What the f*** are you arresting me for I didn’t do anything.”
He then walked out between two vehicles and caused an obstruction meaning police were unable to pass by safely.
Doyle was then heard saying, “Go ahead f***ing arrest me.” He was warned several times about his behaviour but he continued to be obstructive and abusive.

Hide AdWhen told he was under arrest, Doyle then ran off into a nearby farmyard before officers finally arrested him.
When cautioned he made no reply.
A solicitor said his client had an extensive criminal record but for nothing of this nature.
He said Doyle was the “author of his own misfortune” adding that the incident had been brought on by alcohol.
