Locals excited about royal couple’s visit to Coleraine
The Royal couple will take part in First World War commemorations hosted by Coleraine Borough Council.

Hide AdNew Coleraine Mayor, councillor George Duddy will be hosting a civic reception for representatives of the Royal British Legion from Northern and Southern Ireland, as part of Council’s Recognition of Coleraine’s Journey from 1914.
On a three day visit to Northern Ireland, The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will be guests of honour at Crumlin Road Gaol in North Belfast, the Game of Thrones set in Titanic Quarter and Belfast City Hall on Monday.
They will also attend the Secretary of State’s Garden Party at Hillsborough Castle on Tuesday, which will be attended by more than 1,800 guests.
Commenting on their itinerary, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP, said: “I believe this will be an important and inspiring Royal visit.

Hide Ad“The programme announced today will give Her Majesty and His Royal Highness the opportunity to see many different aspects of Northern Ireland - representing its past, its present and its future.”
Security will be tight and the town centre closed off to traffic for the civic reception which has been planned to coincide with a series of engagement and educational events for the local community which will continue right up to 2018.
