Local pupils enjoy Bring IT on event at NRC
The event was held at the Ballymoney campus of NRC.
The event was hosted by BBC NI Weather’s Barra Best who was a very popular figure with the students.
Bring IT on featured talks from local employers such as Seagate Technology, Armstrong Medical Ltd, AVX Ltd, Allstate, PricewaterhouseCoopers, McAuley Engineering Ltd and Generation Innovation – a network for teenagers and young people to encourage entrepreneurship run by Catalyst (formerly the Northern Ireland Science Park).

Hide AdPupils also took part in workshops in TV production, electronic circuits and website design.
Some of the schools participating included Dominican College, Portstewart; Coleraine College; Dalriada Schol, Ballymoney and Coleraine Grammar School.
Stephen Price, Head of Department for Business and Computing at Northern Regional College, explained: “Today’s event was designed to show pupils how broad ICT-related subjects are, by providing them with the opportunity to explore how they can aspire to be the next generation of professionals in STEM-related careers.
“We need to encourage students currently in our education system, as well as future generations, to understand and embrace the technology that affects them in everyday life.
