Local pipe bands have birthday cake with a difference for Rabbie Burns
They cut the haggis to mark the occasion after the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch Meeting in Lisburn on Saturday.
RSPBANI Project Manager Ian Burrows, Pipe Major of Drumlough Pipe Band piped in the haggis and the address to the haggis was given by Winston Pinkerton, the recently appointed RSPBANI President.

Hide AdAfter all present at the meeting had enjoyed haggis, with neeps and tatties of course, followed by tea, coffee and shortbread, Ian Burrows played a selection of Burns’ classic tunes on Scottish smallpipes and low whistle.
The afternoon of food, music and craic was a fitting tribute to the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish bard who was born on 25th January 1759 and died aged just 37 on 21st July 1796, but is still celebrated by all.
