Lives put at risk in Dungannon as drivers ignore one-way system
Several near-misses have occurred in the last weeks after drivers refused to follow diversions in the town’s Lower Perry Street which has been closed for four weeks and with a one way system brought into operation to facilitate public realm works.
The police will now be taking enforcement action against motorists who abuse the system and are warning drivers to obey the rules or receive a fixed penalty notice.

Hide AdThe multi-million pound public realm scheme is intended to enhance the town centre and is being funded by Mid Ulster District Council and the Department for Social Development (DSD).

Earlier this month, the Times revealed plans to overhaul Dungannon town centre, which could involve moving the war memorial back to its original location and returning the traffic flow to a circuit of the square, put in place at the first stage of realm works.
