Joanne takes leap of faith
Joanne Mears, whose husband serves with Lisburn’s 2 Rifles, will be taking part in a freefall parachute jump to raise money for Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) The Soldier’s Charity.
Joanne will be making the leap of faith from 13,000 feet on Mother’s Day (Sunday March 6) and is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Hide AdJoanne is hoping it will be third time lucky for her as the weather has already ruined the plans for the jump on two previous occasions.
“I’m really looking forward to the jump,” she said. “I’ve been up in the aircraft twice already, but the weather was too bad each time and the event was postponed but we’ll be trying again on Mothers’ Day, March 6.”
The money Joanne raises will go to the Army Benevolent Fund, which is based in Thiepval Barracks and supports soldiers, veterans and army families.
This is not the only event the Army Benevolent Fund is running in March.
