Hundreds take part in Tobermore Lough Neagh triathlon
With triathletes coming from across Ireland for the Vodafone National Series event, the promise of high quality racing was never in doubt.
As diverse a field as ever, national champions, Commonwealth Games athletes, as well as para-triathletes and novices took part in the challenging event.

Hide AdCovering a sprint distance, athletes started with a 750m swim in the Ballyronan Marina, followed by a 20km cycle in the surrounding countryside, finishing off with a 5km run.
Councillor Trevor Wilson, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council - which sponsored the event - said: “We were delighted to support this fantastic event here in Mid Ulster in its 16th year.
“It was great to see so many competitors and spectators alike soaking up the incredible atmosphere that Hi Elbow Triathlon Club has once again created.”
Presenting the awards post-race David Henderson, Managing Director at Tobermore, said: “We are delighted and proud to support the Lough Neagh Triathlon. It was fantastic to see the impressive range of talent on display in this exhilarating sport.

Ken Vance, Race Director added: “A fun and family friendly event, which saw children as young as four take part in junior races, to Ireland’s elites showcasing their abilities, I’m encouraged by the support we have had from the local community in Ballyronan.
“They have been tremendous supporters of the event in recent years.”
