Hillsborough group launches latest newsletter
Copies of the publication, which deals with topics such as Hillsborough Public Realm Scheme, Hillsborough Castle development plans, Hillsborough Forest Park Concept Plan and updates on planned works in the area by utility companies such as Phoenix Gas, are being distributed within the village and the surrounding local area.
The group, which was set up following a public consultation event in April 2015, seeks to ensure that strategic projects and other community initiatives are discussed in one agreed forum.

Areas of the community represented include residents, churches, local community groups and businesses. The group includes these local representatives, as well as a representative from Historic Royal Palaces and one from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.
To date the group has been chaired independently by a representative of The Prince’s Foundation, with information shared through the newsletter, community websites and public displays.
Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee, Councillor Uel Mackin commented: “It is great that stakeholders in Hillsborough have the opportunity for their voice to be heard through this Steering Group forum. This is an exciting time for the village with many developments planned for the coming months and years. I would warmly encourage residents and members of the local community to come along to any information event or public consultation to stay informed of the latest happenings in the village.”
