The British Heart Foundation recently revealed that heart disease is the single biggest killer in Northern Ireland and that residents in the Ballymoney area are more than three times more likely to die from coronary heart disease anywhere else in the UK.
Responding to the research, Loughgiel Community Association hopes to provide a new health facility that will assist in the fight against heart disease, diabetes, childhood obesity and generally improve the lives of local people.

When renovations are complete it will allow us to hold spin classes, circuit training and many other fitness classes in conjunction with our existing gym.”

It is hoped that work will commence on the new facility later this year.
