Green Flag success for the Diamond
For many years the school has been leading the way in environmental initiatives and often is noted for its colourful and tidy appearance by many in the local community. Eagle-eyed visitors will have noticed newly planted window boxes and the re-development of several gardens within the grounds.
One of the major projects was the construction of raised beds in a conservation area where pupils planted vegetables and herbs. These have been used by pupils and the intention is to make them an integral part of providing foodstuff for the school cookery club.

Hide AdPupils have been actively involved in the work that was undertaken over the past year, with every P4-7 child participating in a Conservation club for a number of weeks when they got to explore environmental issues and have first-hand experience of gardening in the school grounds.
Curriculum work was linked in the school to sustainable education topics and an Eco-Committee was elected to include staff, pupils, parents and governors.
The school wish to thank staff, pupils, parents, governors and other external bodies for their help in achieving the Green Flag and look forward to further environmental success in the future.
