Glendermott congregation to ‘Lift the Roof Off’
Major work is necessary if the church is to continue, with work needed on the roof, walls and windows, porches, lighting, damaged timber and sound system. Screens are to be installed and toilets and disability access upgraded.
“The first Phase is to remove and fix the roof on the whole meeting house,” said Minister Rev John Hanna, adding: “We are aware that no substantial change can be made to the shape of the building, and so we want to secure this space from the top down. We are hopeful this will not be a major piece of work, but realise when you take the roof off, all necessary repairs should be done at that time.
