Friends go right over the top for charity
The friends, who took part in the spring challenge in aid of Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, are now celebrating their success, having raised a fantastic total of £1500 for the charity.
Lisburn resident Shirley commented: “My close friends Lynn and Lisa have always wanted to abseil down the side of the Viaduct and during a morning’s walk and chat through the park, they decided to follow their ambitions. In their excitement, they mentioned the event to me and I decided to take our friendship to a new level and signed up in aid of the Children’s Hospice.

Fundraiser Karen Dunlop said: “On behalf of everyone at Children’s Hospice, I would like to thank Shirley, Lynn and Lisa for taking their friendship to great heights and conquering this local landmark in support of our work. The women have raised a tremendous amount of money which will help to pay for fifty hours of specialist nursing care for a life-limited child in their own home. Thanks also to everyone who came along to lend their support on the day and who helped to create a fantastic atmosphere.”
