Free compost is on offer from Council
The week aims to encourage more people to realise the benefits of composting and get involved; whether it be through home composting in your own back garden or the composting of your food and garden waste via Ballymena Borough Council’s brown bin scheme.
Composting via your brown bin or your home composter means you are doing your bit to divert waste from landfill.

To mark this campaign, Ballymena Borough Council will be offering residents free compost from the Household Recycling Centre, Waveney Road, Ballymena between May 5th-10th.
There will be a limited quantity of bagged compost available and these are offered on a first come-first serve basis, one bag per resident, so get there early to avoid disappointment!
