Football top posed problem
Through a solicitor Paul O’Hagan (28), whose address was given as Coleman Park, Lurgan, admitted an excess speed offence last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.
He was detected travelling at 38mph in a 30mph zone at Gilford on April 25 this year.

Hide AdHis solicitor said he had booked for the speed awareness course but he turned up in a football top and was told it might cause offence. He added that his client had to forfeit the fee.
Deputy District Judge Liam McStay reduced the usual fixed penalty fine from £60 to £50, ordered the defendant to pay a £15 offender’s levy and imposed three penalty points.
