Dromore Legion says thanks for public support
Among those attending was Dromore Councillor Paul Rankin.
“I was privileged,” he said, “to join with members of Dromore RBL and elected representatives Mrs Brenda Hale MLA, Councillor Hazel Gamble and Councillor Olive Mercer as we remembered the fallen of WW1. “The Rev Gracey of Dromore Methodist led with a word of prayer and it was encouraging to see a goodly number of local people take time out of their busy schedules to pause and remember the fallen.”
On August 4 Dromore RBL will be holding a candlelit vigil marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great War and on August 17 they will be holding parade and wreath-laying at the War Memorial, ahead of a commemorative service in conjunction with Canon Bryan Kerr and the congregation of Dromore Cathedral.
“The local community are invited to come along to both events,” said Mr Rankin.
