North Antrim MLA Jim Allister said: “Yesterday evening’s shooting in the Mosside Gardens area is deeply worrying, particularly when set in the context of a rising number of shooting incidents in the area.
“This sort of behaviour is wrong and needs to stop.
“The guilty parties need to be brought to justice before the courts and I would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward to the PSNI.
“The local people of the area do not need or want violent attacks of this nature.

Hide Ad“I very much hope that the police investigation is able to get to the bottom of what is yet another deeply concerning incident.”
Detective Inspector McKenna said: “We received a report just after 7.30pm that a man had been shot at a property in the Mosside Gardens area outside Ballymoney.
“A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
“An investigation is now underway and we would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or witnessed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area, to call detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1841 of 22/02/21.

Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan condemned the a gun attack near Ballymoney.
The North Antrim MLA said: “This gun attack in which a man was injured in the Mosside Gardens area of Ballymoney was wrong and I condemn it.
“Those responsible have nothing to offer society and need to end these actions immediately.
