'˜Elaborate hoax' closed Cookstown to Omagh road late last night
Police have confirmed that the security alert that closed the Cookstown to Omagh road late last night was an '˜elaborate hoax'.
Army Technical Officers were called to the scene to examine a suspicious object in Creggan at around on Easter Sunday night.
Diversions were put in place after the closure of the main road between the Creggan cross-roads and Garyowen Road.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said this morning that ATO “examined a suspicious object and declared it to be an elaborate hoax”.
