Car driven on A1 at over 100mph
Giorgio Pavesio, Roc-Amadour, Torca Road, Dublin, admitted excess speed when he appeared last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court sitting in Newry.
He was fined £200, ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and given four points.

Hide AdThe court heard that on October 24 this year in a police patrol was travelling in the 60mph zone on the A1 carriageway.
They were overtaken by the defendant’s vehicle and followed it for two miles during which time it reached speeds around 100mph.
Pavesio pleaded guilty himself in the court.
District Judge Amanda Brady said this was a very dangerous road on which to drive at 100mph over this distance.
He added that the speed usually merited a disqualification but given that the defendant had a clear record and had pleaded guilty she would not disqualify him.
