Calls for a festive Grotto to bring some Christmas cheer to Banbridge
It has been many years since a grotto was in the town and families have taken to social media in the hope of a Miracle on Newry Street.
With less than two weeks to the big day, it is a bit late for this Christmas but support is gathering for a town centre grotto to be set up in 2017.

One Facebook user said: “I had to drive to Newry yesterday to let my son see Santa,” while another said: “I would definitely take my youngest as I don’t drive and he’d love to visit him. It’s part of the Christmas tradition.”
Michael Donaghy, Banbridge Chamber of Commerce revealed the issue was discussed at last week’s meeting.
He added that there used to be a town centre grotto for many years.

“However, if somebody was intending on bringing a Santa’s grotto to the town, the chamber would certainly support that,” said Mr Donaghy.
