Bond’s St stabbing accused city ban
Samantha Barton, of Bond’s Street, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent on November 29.
She is further charged with possessing a knife with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Hide AdLondonderry Magistrates’ Court heard police received a report of a stabbing from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and attend the Bond Street address.
Officers spoke to the complainant and he alleged he had been asleep when Barton woke him up and tried to stab him in the chest.
He claimed he turned away and the 20-year-old stabbed him in the upper arm.
Barton allgedly told police she tried to stab her boyfriend in the chest ‘but he woke up and I stabbed him the arm. I don’t know why’.

Hide AdThe complainant was taken to hosital for treatment and it is alleged he sustained a one inch wound to his upper arm which required three stitches.
The court was told he refused to co-operate with police or provide any statement of complainant.
Oppsing bail, an investigating officer said police have concerns Barton will commit further offences.
Defence solicitor Deaglan Barrett told the court the complainant was in court to support his client.

Hide AdHe added that a bail address was available with Barton’s mother.
District Judge Barney McElholm released the 20-year-old on bail with a number of conditions. These include having no contact with the alleged injured party unless it is supervised by her parents.
Barton is also banned from entering the cityside.
She will appear in court again on December 17.
