Bishop of Derry and Raphoe: ‘Graffiti is unrepresentative’
Young people in the area were among those to turn out in force yesterday, equipped with buckets and paintbrushes, power hoses and scrubbing brushes, to erase the slogans which not only glorified Saturday’s murder in Omagh, but also attacked Sinn Fein and those perceived by them to be ‘sellouts’.
He said: “The strong reaction from the citizens in the Bogside and across our city has demonstrated that the sentiments expressed in some graffiti are wholly unrepresentative of the community.

“The united voice of the community has been more accurately expressed in the strong lead given by politicians, churches and sporting organizations, not least the GAA, in outrightly condemning the killing of Constable Ronan Kerr.
