Backing for Lifeline
Lifeline is funded by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) and is a core aspect of the Northern Ireland Assembly’s Protect Life suicide prevention strategy.
It is staffed by specially trained counsellors who have experience in dealing with a wide range of emotional situations, such as suidical feelings, self-harm, abuse, trauma, depression and anxiety.

Hide AdThe helpline was set up by Health Minister, Michael McGimpsey, who said: “The heartbreak of suicide affects far too many families in Northern Ireland, leaving them struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one.”
He added: “Lifeline is there for anyone who needs support. I urge those who are in despair, or who are concerned about a family member or friend, to make contact.”
