A boost for Lisburn's talking paper

The charity was nominated for financial support by Progressive staff and the money will be used to provide those who are blind, partially sighted or otherwise unable to read with a means of access to local news.
Ian Nelson, Progressive Branch Manager in Lisburn, handed over a cheque for £2,500 to Robert Apsley, Chair of the Lisburn Leo Talking Newspaper Association.

Hide AdMr Nelson said: “I am delighted that our staff have chosen to support the valuable service that Talking Newspaper provides.”
Robert Apsley thanked the staff of Progressive for their generosity and thoughtfulness. “Lisburn Leo makes a CD recording of local news each week,” he explained. “CDs are circulated free to our listeners. As a charity, we depend entirely on the involvement of volunteers,” he continued.
