232 WHSSB staff dispersed in health shuffle
In April 2009 232 staff were employed in the WHSSB. But after the HSCB replaced the existing four Health and Social Services Boards throughout Northern Ireland there were only 84 staff employed by it in the former WHSSB area.
Health Minister Michael McGimpsey revealed the staffing levels in response to a query by Foyle SDLP MLA Mark Durkan.

Equally at March 31, 2010 a further 17 former Western Health and Social Care Board staff (16.3 WTE) were working in the Western area for Cooperation and Working Together (CAWT).
The Minister advised: "The Health and Social Care Board advised that it is currently not possible to be definitive on proposed total staff at this time as this will depend on the outworking of the current process including engagement with trade unions, but they are committed to the maintenance of strong local offices, and to undertaking this process fairly and transparently as possible."
