16 members of the Burt Faith Defenders made the supreme sacrifice
Of the 16 members who volunteered six were to make the Supreme Sacrifice far from their native land.
Many of the others were wounded in action.We acknowledge the debt we owe to those we remember in this Roll of Honour and indeed to all those men and women from throughout the island of Ireland who served and died in that terrible conflict.

Pte. Robert Dinsmore, Gortcormican, Burnfoot, Co. Donegal, of the 9th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Killed in action July 1, 1916. No known grave. Remembered with honour on the Thiepval Memorial.
Pte. Joseph Crockett, Elaghbeg, Burnfoot, Co.Donegal, with the 10th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and Machine Gun Corps (Infantry]. Killed in action July 1, 1916. No known grave. Remembered with honour on the Thiepval Memorial.
Pte. Robert Bell, Burnfoot, Co.Donegal, of the 6th Inniskilling Dragoons. Killed in action January 1, 1916. Remembered with honour in Hucqueliers cemetery in Flanders.
